Our Vision & Beliefs

Worship isn't something we just do on Sunday mornings. It's a whole-of-life approach to worshiping our Creator in Spirit and Truth. Whether in the community, the church, or the home, believers in Jesus Christ are called to worship God in all we do.

True community is found in the fellowship of other believers united in the common bond of Jesus Christ. The church is a body of believers who bear one another's burdens, provide encouragement, and participate in community and care for each other.

Jesus Christ must be shared with the whole world. The only way to see real change take place in our communities is by telling them about the eternal life saving power of Jesus. We desire to reach people for Christ one life at a time.

We believe the Bible is the Word of God, was written by men divinely inspired, and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy and is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption.

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He infallibly foreknows all that shall come to pass, that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. We believe that in His incarnation  He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself human nature with its demands and necessities and identifying Himself completely with mankind yet without sin. We believe in His substitutionary death on the cross that He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. We believe that Christ was raised from the dead with a glorified body and appeared to many witnesses. Jesus Christ is both fully man and fully God. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God and will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He inspired men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables people to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls men to the Savior, and effects regeneration. At the moment of regeneration He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer in worship, evangelism, and service.

We believe mankind is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. In the beginning mankind was innocent of sin and was endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Through the temptation of Satan man transgressed the command of God, and fell from his original innocence whereby now his inherit nature is inclined toward sin. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and fulfill the creative purpose of God. The sacredness of human personality is evident in that God created man in His own image. Therefore, every person of every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

We believe salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. Salvation is a gift through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. Every person who truly is saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ and will spend eternity in heaven, while those who die in their sins will spend eternity in hell.

We believe baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, and is a public profession of the believer’s death to sin, burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.
The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby born-again believers in Jesus Christ, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Christ and anticipate His second coming.

We believe the church is the Body of Christ, with Christ as its head, and includes all believers from every tribe, tongue, people and nation. We believe the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. Each congregation operates under the Lordship of Christ through democratic processes. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of making disciples and delivering the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.
