Be Doers of the Word - Session 1

Session 1: Persevering Through Trials While Leaning on the Wisdom of God
Read James 1:1-12
Memory Verse: James 1:2-4, “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
Study Questions:
  1. What does it practically look like to “count it all joy” when facing a trial? How can we cultivate this mindset?
  2. Looking back, how has a past trial strengthened your faith in ways you didn’t see at the time?
  3. How does God’s wisdom change our response to difficult times?
  4. What does it mean to be “double-minded” in faith? Have you ever struggled with this?
  5. How does the promise in verse 12 encourage perseverance during challenges?
  6. What are some common trials believers face today? How do those trials challenge our faith?
  7. Who in your life is facing a trial right now? How can you support or help them?
  8. Call to Action: Reflect on a current trial in your life. Write it down. Pray specifically for God’s wisdom in navigating the trial. Consider at least one action you can take to respond to the trial in faith and trust in God.
